Danny has been a familiar face in the local property scene for over 30 years. Before founding Steel & Co in 2016, he ran a successful residential lettings and also financial services business, experience that set the stage for his current leadership. In his role today, Danny heads up property valuations, acquisitions, and larger development projects. He's known for steering complex commercial deals with honesty and expertise, and for building long-lasting relationships with landlords, investors, and developers. But Danny’s impact goes far beyond the office. He’s the Chair of Lowestoft Vision, the town’s Business Improvement District, and a board member of the Lowestoft Place Board — playing a key role in regeneration projects, including the revitalisation of the historic town centre. You may also know his efforts leading to the rescue of the South Pier in 2015, when his campaign helped reopen and secure funding for the iconic landmark. Outside of work, Danny lives in Lowestoft with his wife Carol and is the proud father of Amanda and Darren and grandfather to two lovely grandkids.

Amanda is a fully qualified DipMap Mortgage Advisor. Retaining over 15 years’ experience in independent financial advisory services and the property sector, Amanda offers mortgage advice and maintains a large number of clients entirely based on current and former recommendations. She supervises both the Commercial property and the Financial Services Departments and furthermore, manages the entire staff’s well-being, identifying and encouraging training needs. Amanda lives a busy life with her partner, 2 horses and of course our office dog Eddie.

After many years in the education sector, Darren joined the family business in 2021 to bring his, problem-solving mindset into the world of commercial property. These days, he works mostly behind the scenes -whether it’s handling tenant issues, managing viewings, drawing up floor plans, or helping us keep things ticking along smoothly in the background. He also co-runs So Joe, a growing serviced accommodation business that complements the work we do here at Steel & Co and gives him valuable insight into the changing needs of modern tenants, contractors and relocation clients particularly as activity ramps up around the Sizewell C development. His involvement in both sides of the market helps keep us ahead of local demand and connected to what’s really happening on the ground. Outside of work, Darren juggles a busy family life with four children, and when he gets a moment to himself, you'll find him out on his bike or chasing waves with a surfboard under his arm.

Shellie has worked in the local property industry for over 2 decades and is a key part of the team here at Steel & Co. With her hands-on, no-nonsense approach, she’s likely to be the first person you speak to on the phone or in the office and often the one who takes your enquiry from start to finish. From arranging and carrying out viewings, assessing applicants, and drawing up licences or leases, to handling the day-to-day running of our tenancies, Shellie keeps the office running smoothly and all our clients well looked after. A born-and-bred local, Shellie lives in Lowestoft with her long-term partner. With her children now grown up, she enjoys walks and is often spotted clearing her head along the seafront with a coffee in hand.

Tara has been a key part of the Steel & Co team since 2020, bringing order and accuracy to the day-to-day running of our commercial property accounts. Having previously worked with Danny and Amanda, she was already a trusted hand and her calm, methodical approach continues to be a huge asset to the business. From managing rent payments to reconciling accounts, Tara’s sharp eye for detail and no fuss attitude helps keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes. Outside of the office, Tara is a busy mum to two young daughters and is often found lending a hand at her family’s local pub — though we think she prefers spreadsheets to pouring pints!

Ellie joined Steel & Co in March 2025 and instantly felt like part of the family. With a background in residential property and experience at local estate agencies, she brings a solid understanding of the local market — as well as a friendly face and lightning-fast efficiency. Ellie supports Shellie with the day-to-day running of the office and acts as PA to Danny, helping to keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes. She’s especially brilliant at marketing and advertising, and her energy and approachable nature make her a hit with clients and colleagues alike. A proud local girl, Ellie knows the area inside out. Outside of work, she’s a music-lover and festivalgoer, often found dancing in wellies with her young daughter in tow.

Eddie has been a loyal fixture at Steel & Co for years, but as he's got older, he's eased off the patrols and taken up more of a supervisory role — usually from the comfort of the office sofa (preferably the exact spot you were about to sit in). While he may not leap up to greet you, he’s still quietly keeping watch — and if he does come over, it’s strictly for quality control sniffs and the occasional scratch behind the ears. Now enjoying the slower pace of semi-retirement, Eddie spends his spare time pursuing small moving targets and accepting cheese bribes from staff and visitors alike.
